South Bay Rotaract Club is a bridge to many opportunities: getting involved with the community, helping others in need, meeting new people both locally and internationally, and building lasting friendships.

We value and exemplify "service about self."  Throughout the years we have done many projects which have reached out and touched other people's lives in some way or other.   This could include a small project such as donating our fun dollars to a child at the Nepal Dog Squad school, collecting school supplies to ship to schools in Kenya, gift wrapping to raise money for stuff animals for kids at the Shriner Hospital, or projects on a larger scale such as our project of the year; wheel chair distribution in Costa Rica.  Together as a club and with our district we raised over $21,000 to distribute 280 wheelchairs in Costa Rica.  Literally holding disabled people up and placing them in the wheelchairs and seeing their tear of happiness and hearing their cracked voice saying "gracias," is what reminds us what Rotaract is all about; Service about self.

We not only work hard, but we know how to play hard.  Our club is filled with many social events which give us a better opportunity to get to know our own club members and other rotaractors in our district on a more personal level.   We are not only a club but we have grown into a group of friends.  We always know how to have a good time together: whether it is dodger night with the Rotarians, rotary family picnic, an authentic home made dinner with visiting Italian rotaractors, or winding down after work with happy hour.

South Bay Rotaract has also gained many great international relations.  Many of our members have had the opportunity to travel throughout the world to experience Rotaract in other cities and attend international conferences: Germany, Italy, and Turkey.  The best part of attending international conferences is that not only do you get to travel and visit a foreign city, however, it gives you the opportunity to make connections with rotaractors from all over the world who are all unique individuals but yet all come together for one common reason, service.   We have also had many visiting rotaractors, from places such as Lebanon, Italy, and Australia.  We take pride in hosting other rotaractors and love to show them a good time in LA.
